Erected in 1907 and designed by famous Philadelphia architect Horace Trumbauer, the former Center City YMCA’s award-winning transformation into a 200 room, four star hotel was the perfect match for SgRA’s unique expertise in historic buildings and complex code analysis. SgRA’s treatment of the existing historic interior spaces, including the wood-paneled lobby, reading room with vaulted ceiling, and ornate auditorium, helped maintain the integrity of the historic architecture in the face of significant code compliance challenges while creating a modern luxury experience for future guests.
